Zaprasza 17 stycznia o godzinie 16:00 w budynku Biblioteki na konkurs dla czytelników.
W dniu 28 grudnia 2006 r. odbyły się gminne eliminacje do XI Festiwalu „Stajenka” w Pogorzeli, zorganizowane przez Gminne Centrum Kultury w Poniecu.
Już po raz trzeci, bibliotekarka Oddziału Dziecięcego - Jolanta Pawłowska wraz z gościem Mariolą Nowak i maskotką-pluszowym misiem Bajtkiem, odwiedziła Przedszkole Samorządowe w ramach akcji "Cała Polska czyta dzieciom".
Ponad setka dzieci otrzymała paczki przygotowane przez pracowników Ośrodka Pomocy Społecznej w Poniecu. Prezenty zakupiono dzięki wsparciu sponsorów. Dzieci otrzymały paczki podczas spotkania z Mikołajem, które odbyło się w ponieckim kinie.
W dniu 14.12.2006 r. odbyły się spektakle teatralno - profilaktyczne, które zostały zorganizowane przez Pełnomocnika Burmistrza ds. Rozwiązania Problemów Alkoholowych w Poniecu. Spektakl pt.: „Z innej perspektywy”, był adresowany do uczniów szkół gimnazjalnych.
Burmistrz Ponieca Kazimierz Dużałka powołał swojego zastępcę. Od 11 grudnia funkcję tą pełni Jacek Widyński dotychczasowy inspektor ds. Gospodarki Gruntami, Mienia Komunalnego, Gospodarki Komunalnej i Lokalowej.
Dnia 18 grudnia 2006 roku o godz.13-tej odbyła się III Sesja Rady Miejskiej w Poniecu. Głównym tematem obrad było uchwalenie podatków na 2007 rok.
