Gminne Koło Hodowców i Producentów Bydła w Poniecu zorganizowało po raz kolejny Konkurs Odchowu Cieląt.
W dniu 10 listopada br. odbyło się uroczyste podsumowanie Konkursu. Wśród zaproszonych gości znaleźli się: Prezydent Federacji Hodowców Bydła – Leszek Hądzlik, Burmistrz Ponieca, Kazimierz Dużałka oraz dyrektorzy Centrum Rozrodu Anna Włodarczyk i Ireneusz Beczkiewicz.

W dniu16 listopada br. w budynku Gminnego Centrum Kultury został zorganizowany Turniej tenisa stołowego przez Poniecki Klub Sportowy „Piast” dla uczniów Szkoły Podstawowej oraz Gimnazjum.

Tradycyjnie Komitet Obchodów Świąt Narodowych w Poniecu zorganizował obchody Święta Narodowego 11 listopada.
Jak co roku Rada Miejska w Poniecu przeznaczyła w budżecie gminy środki na stypendia dla studentów z terenu gminy Poniec, którzy w roku akademickim 2005/2006 osiągnęli średnią ocen powyżej 4,00.
Dnia 24 października br. w Ośrodku Integracji Europejskiej w Rokosowie obradowała na XLIV sesji Rada Miejska w Poniecu. Była to ostatnia sesja w kadencji 2002 – 2006. Uczestniczyli w niej wszyscy radni Rady Miejskiej, radni powiatu Gostyńskiego, dyrektorzy szkół, zakładów i jednostek działających na terenie gminy Poniec.
