Obecnie trwa budowa kanalizacji sanitarnej wraz przykanalikami i przepompownia ścieków w m. Poniec etap III obejmujący ulice Rydzyńską, Janiszewską, Polną, część Bojanowskiej i Szkolnej.
W dniu 30 listopada br. w budynku Gminnego Centrum Kultury w Poniecu odbyła się dyskoteka andrzejkowa dla młodzieży gimnazjalnej. W trakcie zabawy oczywiście nie zabrakło wróżb andrzejkowych.
W dniu 6 grudnia br. o godz. 14:00 w sali Gminnego Centrum Kultury w Poniecu odbędzie się II Sesja Rady Miejskiej w Poniecu.

W poniedziałek 27 listopada br. Radni Rady Miejskiej w Poniecu spotkali się na pierwszej Sesji. Uroczystego otwarcia Sesji dokonał Radny Senior Tadeusz Kaźmierczak.
W miesiącu październiku br. w Gminie Poniec rozpoczęto wymianę oświetlenia ulicznego. W wyniku modernizacji wymienia się wyeksploatowane oprawy typu KOR-125W, KOR-250W, ORZ 7 250W i OUR 125W, w których zamontowane były w większości wysokoprężne lampy rtęciowe, o niskiej skuteczności świetlnej.
Dnia 18.11.2006 r. w Gminnym Centrum Kultury w Poniecu odbyły się gminne eliminacje do Powiatowego Konkursu Piosenki „ŚPIEWAĆ KAŻDY MOŻE” KROBIA 2006
Każdy z uczestników konkursu wykonał wybraną przez siebie piosenkę.
