Obecnie trwa budowa kanalizacji sanitarnej wraz przykanalikami i przepompownią ścieków w m. Poniec etap III obejmujący ulice Rydzyńską , Janiszewską , Polną, część Bojanowskiej i Szkolnej.
W dniach 20 i 21 października br. odbył się w Poniecu kolejny „Rajd szlakiem Powstania Wielkopolskiego”, w którym wzięło udział 99 uczniów ze szkół naszej gminy. Organizatorami rajdu były ponieckie szkoły oraz Szczep ZHP.
Zwycięzcy konkursu „Quiz o Europie” – Jagoda Kędzierska z klasy IIa oraz Dawid Widyński z klasy IIIb – wraz z opiekunem wyjechali w nagrodę do Brukseli do Parlamentu Europejskiego.
W dniu 13 października br. odbył się wyjazd na mecz Orange Ekstraklasy pomiędzy Lechem Poznań i Łódzkim Klubem Sportowym zorganizowany przez Gminne Centrum Kultury w Poniecu.
Pod takim hasłem przeprowadzono w gminie Poniec konkurs zbiórki baterii i akumulatorów małogabarytowych. Konkurs został zorganizowany przez Burmistrza Ponieca oraz Miejski Zakład Oczyszczania w Lesznie..
W piątek 13 sierpnia br. gminę Poniec odwiedzili uczestnicy „Rajdu Rowerowego w 100 – rocznicę Polskiego Towarzystwa Krajoznawczego”. Organizatorami rajdu były Odział PTTK w Rawiczu oraz Towarzystwo Turystyczne „TRAMP” z Miejskiej Górki.
W dniu 12 października br. w Żytowiecku odbyło się uroczyste poświęcenie i przekazanie sali gimnastycznej pobudowanej przy Zespole Szkół Szkoły Podstawowej i Gimnazjum w Żytowiecku.
