W dniu 4 kwietnia br. uczniowie szkół podstawowych z terenu gminy Poniec wzięli udział spektaklu teatralnym pt. ”SERDUSZKO PODPOWIE CI NA USZKO” Spektakl o charakterze profilaktyczno - edukacyjnym został zaprezentowany w Poniecu, Łęce Wielkiej oraz Żytowiecku. Przedstawienie było adresowane dla uczniów szkół podstawowych klasy 1 – 4.
o tytuł Najlepszego Matematyka - Gimnazjalistę Gminy Poniec w trzech kategoriach wiekowych klasa I, II i III.
W druga rocznicę śmierci Ojca Świętego Jana Pawła II delegacja radnych Rady Miejskiej w Poniecu w obecności ks. kanonika Leona Kamińskiego i mieszkańców gminy Poniec złożyła kwiaty pod pomnikiem upamiętniającym pontyfikat Jana Pawła II.
W dniu 27 marca o godz.14-tej odbyła się VI Sesja Rady Miejskiej w sali Gminnego Centrum Kultury w Poniecu. Burmistrz Ponieca Kazimierz Dużałka przedstawił sprawozdanie z realizacji uchwał podjętych na poprzedniej sesji , zapoznał również Radę z działaniami w okresie od 29 stycznia 2007 roku do 27 marca 2007 roku, jak też wydanymi w okresie sprawozdawczym Zarządzeniami Burmistrza.
