Dnia 9 października 2006r. w sali Gminnego Centrum Kultury w Poniecu przeprowadzono rejestrację przedpoborowych mężczyzn urodzonych w 1988r. Do rejestracji wezwano i zgłosiło się 81 mężczyzn zamieszkałych na terenie miasta i gminy Poniec.
W dniu 10 października br. w Urzędzie Miejskim w Poniecu odbyła się uroczystość Jubileuszowa 50 – lecia pożycia małżeńskiego. Jubileusz obchodziło 15 par z terenu gminy Poniec.
W niedzielę 8 października br. na boisku sportowym w Poniecu odbył się Turniej Piłkarski o Puchar Burmistrza Ponieca OLDBOYS. W turnieju udział wzięły drużyny z Rydzyny, Osiecznej, Ponieca oraz drużyna firmy Łagrom.
W dniu 8 października br. odbyła się wycieczka do ZOO we Wrocławiu zorganizowana przez Gminne Centrum Kultury w Poniecu. Brało w niej udział 39 osób.

W związku ze zmianami termin wyjazdu na mecz Lech Poznań – ŁKS Łódź został przełożony na 13 października na godz. 16:30.
Dnia 25 września 2006 r. odbył się I etap konkursu „Quiz o Europie”. Organizatorem i głównym sponsorem wszystkich nagród jest Jan Tadeusz Masiel, Poseł do Parlamentu Europejskiego.
W ramach profilaktyki:
- raka piersi
- raka gruczołu krokowego (prostata)
- raka jelita grubego
w Niepublicznym Zakładzie Opieki Zdrowotnej „Medica" w Poniecu, ul. Dworcowa 2B w dniu 17.10.2006r. o godz. 14.00 odbędzie się pogadanka dla pacjentów na w/w tematy.
Zbliża się dziewiąta rocznica powstania „AA Tęcza” w Poniecu, dlatego Stowarzyszenie „Klub Abstynenta” organizuje kolejne spotkanie pod hasłem „Pomogą wyjść z nałogu” dla osób uzależnionych od alkoholu i ich rodzin, które odbędzie się dnia 15 października (niedziela) o godz. 1600.
