Przy okazji modernizacji oświetlenia w gminie Poniec, dwa kościoły tj: kościół parafialny w Poniecu i kościół parafialny w Żytowiecku, zyskały iluminacje świetlne.
Poprzez zastosowanie odpowiednich źródeł światła, obiekty te zostały wyeksponowane w porze wieczornej i nocnej. Kościoły, a w szczególności ich wieże są charakterystycznymi obiektami w tych miejscowościach, które widziane są z daleka z różnych kierunków, stanowią zatem pewne punkty odniesienia. Iluminacje pozwolą ukazać piękno architektoniczne kościołów oraz wyeksponowanie wież na tle ciemnego nieba, równocześnie dzięki odpowiedniej barwie światła i dynamiki oświetlenia stworzą odpowiedni nastrój wokół tychże budowli. Iluminacje zrealizowane będą w oparciu o oprawy ze źródłami wysokoprężnymi metalohalogenkowymi o różnych temperaturach.
