Sołectwo Miechcin zwyciężyło w pierwszym Turnieju Sołectw Gminy Poniec, który odbył się w dniu 16 czerwca br. na boisku sportowym w Poniecu. W turnieju udział wzięło 13 sołectw z terenu gminy Poniec.

Drużyny rywalizowały w 10 bardzo widowiskowych konkurencjach. Zawodnicy zmagali się w konkurencjach: wyścig łodzi wikingów, bieg w workach, narciarze na start, nocny wyścig rydwanów, mistrz rzutów karnych, palikowanie, toczenie opony, operator wideł, przeciąganie liny i twoje moje.
Zwyciężyła drużyna z Miechcina przed Żytowieckiem i Bogdankami. Nagrodą za zdobycie pierwszego miejsca był puchar Burmistrza Ponieca oraz czek na 1000 zł. Zdobywcy drugiego miejsca otrzymali czek na 700 zł, a trzeciego na 500 zł. Uroczystego wręczenia dokonali: Burmistrz Ponieca Kazimierz Dużałka, Zastępca Burmistrza Jacek Widyński oraz Przewodniczący Rady Miejskiej w Poniecu Jerzy Kusz.
Klasyfikacja sołectw przedstawia się następująco:

  1. Miechcin
  2. Żytowiecko
  3. Bogdanki
  4. Dzięczyna
  5. Drzewce
  6. Czarkowo
  7. Waszkowo
  8. Teodozewo
  9. Łęka Wielka
  10. Śmiłowo
  11. Szurkowo
  12. Janiszewo
  13. Rokosowo

W dniu 16 czerwca br. dokończony został również III Turniej Piłki Nożnej o Puchar Burmistrza Ponieca. Po dziesięciu zaciętych meczach najwięcej punktów zdobyła drużyna WOLDREW. Drugie miejsce wywalczyła jedenastka Łagrom, a trzecie drużyna Gimnazjum.
Swoje mecze dokończyły także drużyny młodzieżowe. Najlepszą okazała się drużyna  „Poniec 2” przed drużyną „Poniec 1” i Rokosowo. Młodzi piłkarze zostali nagrodzeni medalami.
