W gminie Poniec uroczyście obchodzono Święto Narodowe 3 Maja. Tradycyjnie uczestnicy zebrali się przy Gminnym Centrum Kultury w Poniecu i przy dźwiękach orkiestry przemaszerowali do kościoła p.w. Chrystusa Króla.

Po Mszy Św. za Ojczyznę uroczystość swymi występami uświetniła młodzież z Publicznego Gimnazjum w Poniecu. Następnie przedstawiciele władz gminy, szkół, zakładów pracy, organizacji pozarządowych oraz mieszkańcy gminy Poniec przemaszerowali ulicami miasta i złożyli wieńce w miejscach Pamięci Narodowej. Obchody zakończono spotkaniem w sali GCK w Poniecu.
